Serbian Minister of Labour, Employment and Social Policy Slobodan Lalovic and Assistant Minister for Migration Policies of the Region Veneto Oscar De Bona signed a protocol today under which a number of Serbian workers will get an opportunity to seek employment in this Italian region.

Lalovic told a press conference that these are mainly construction, medical and metal workers and expressed hope that the cooperation will be of mutual benefit for Serbia and this region.
The Minister stressed that a joint commission will be founded that will work on enforcement of the agreement and exchange of data on the supply and demand of workforce and should start working in November.
De Bona noted that Serbian citizens who apply to work in Veneto will have to learn Italian, get additional qualifications and to get acquaintaned with Italian culture.
He said that under the Italian law, Veneto can receive up to 20,000 non-EU resident workers, and noted that several thousands of free posts have been reserved for Serbia.
De Bona added that he spoke today with Minister of Health Tomica Milosavljevic on recognising Serbian diplomas for nurses in Italy.
Italian Ambassador to Belgrade Alessandro Merola also attended the conference.
