Prime Minister Professor Đuro Macut, MD, DSc, today visited the village of Vraneša near Kokin Brod, in the municipality of Nova Varoš, where he discussed the current situation on the ground with representatives of the emergency response teams.
Macut spoke with employees of power distribution company Elektrodistribucija Srbije (EDS) and representatives of local governments and emergency response teams, who are ensuring that citizens have electricity and remain safe in the most challenging winter conditions.
I am grateful to all those on the ground for their dedication, responsibility and selfless work, the Prime Minister emphasised.
Macut said that the situation in the Zlatibor District following the snowfall is completely under control, that work is being carried out on the ground at full capacity and that preventive measures will continue.
He stressed that all services are on standby and at the disposal of all citizens and all regions, and that this visit was of a preventive nature, aimed at assessing the situation on the ground and, if necessary, engaging additional resources.
After touring the power lines in the village of Vraneša near Nova Varoš, the Prime Minister was headed to Priboj and Prijepolje.
The Prime Minister expressed his gratitude to all services, particularly the EDS employees who are working around the clock and who, as he noted, climb power lines in extremely difficult conditions, at low temperatures and high altitudes, performing exceptionally demanding work.
