At the ceremony where athlete Angelina Topić and wrestler Aleksandar Komarov were declared the most successful athletes of Serbia for 2025 in the selection of the Olympic Committee of Serbia, Macut pointed out that this is a value that cannot be measured by the number of medals, but is very deeply felt in every corner of our country.
He assessed that this is a year that Serbia has reason to be proud of and in which the athletes once again showed that talent, work, discipline and self-belief can bring results at the highest international level.
The Prime Minister emphasised that the successes achieved by Serbian athletes are the result of systematic, long-term and responsible support of the state and its institutions to top sports.
It is this continuity of investment, planning and partnership that has contributed to the constant improvement of Serbia's sports results at the biggest international competitions. I want to clearly say that the institutional support will continue in the coming years, said Macut.
The Prime Minister added that the support will be directed towards the complete system of top sports in Serbia, from athletes and coaches to federations and professional teams, and pointed out that the Olympic Committee of Serbia has a special place in that system, because as an umbrella sports institution, it represents the support of the state.
The ceremony was also attended by Minister of Sport Zoran Gajić, Minister of Public Administration and Local Self-Government Snežana Paunović and Minister of Environmental Protection Sara Pavkov.
