Prime Minister Professor Đuro Macut, MD, DSc, met today with representatives of education unions, together with teams from the Ministry of Finance and the Ministry of Education.
At the meeting, key topics raised by the unions over the course of the year were discussed, and it was agreed to address certain outstanding issues as soon as possible.
Macut stressed that direct and honest dialogue is necessary, emphasising that educators invest knowledge, effort and personal energy in the education of children in Serbia every day and that their work deserves full respect, understanding and concrete solutions.
He pointed out that education must not be a space for divisions, but rather a shared point of unity, and that the Government of Serbia will continue discussions with representatives of the education sector with the aim of finding solutions through partnership and mutual respect, in the interest of students, teachers and society as a whole.
