Vuksanovic said that for the promotion of school and pre-school system it is important to make changes to the Law on education.
Belgrade Mayor Nenad Bogdanovic said that schools in Belgrade should reach the European standard within two or three years and noted that there must be no children waiting to get enrolled in kindergartens.
He pointed out that the city invested €34.2 million in the pre-school system and added that 7,000 children attend pre-school institutions while 4,000 children are on the waiting list.
The only way to solve this problem is to build new facilities in Cukaricka Padina, Kaludjerica, Banjica, Zvezdara, Rakovica and Zemun, he said.
New kindergartens were already built in Sremcica, Resnik, Bezanijska Kosa and Mladenovac, Bogdanovic said and announced the construction of new schools in Rakovica, Kaludjerica and Vracar.
He said that of 280 large schools in Belgrade, 178 have been reconstructed, and also added that in the past six years more schools have been erected than in the previous 20 years.
