Construction of oil pipeline Constanza - Pancevo - Omisalj - Trieste to begin later this year

If all phases of the project of the oil pipeline Constanza - Pancevo - Omisalj - Trieste are completed successfully, construction of the pipeline could begin later this year, and it could be put into commercial use in 2007, said Assistant Minister for Oil and Gas at the Ministry of Energy and Mining Slobodan Sokolovic at a press conference today.
Representatives of Serbia-Montenegro, Croatia and Romania, who set up an international committee for monitoring the realisation of the project talked on May 27 and 28 in Zagreb about the feasibility study prepared by the US company HLP Parsons, said Sokolovic.
The committee agreed that it the US company's study is very useful, that it is a good groundwork for further realisation of the project and therefore it decided to adopted it, which is a step forward in the committee's work.
