Government’s goal to improve citizens’ quality of life

Prime Minister Professor Đuro Macut, MD, DSc, visited Aleksinac today, where he toured the Health Centre and the Gynaecology Department and the Gerontology Centre “Jelenac”.

The visit to these institutions was also attended by Minister of Labour, Employment, Veteran and Social Affairs Milica Đurđević Stamenkovski, Minister for Family Care and Demography Jelena Žarić Kovačević and Minister of Health Zlatibor Lončar.

Macut emphasised that the Gerontology Centre and the Health Centre are institutions through which the state shows great care for all categories of the population, adding that this is precisely the goal of the Serbian government – general welfare, care for citizens and improving the quality of life.

Aleksinac demonstrates that we care about the youngest, since a reconstructed maternity hospital was opened in 2018, the Prime Minister said, adding that the state will continue to strengthen the Health Centre, in order to maintain the level of quality of services and retain professional staff.

He pointed out that in the coming period, the Serbian government will be more present in places throughout Serbia, and the ministries will be better connected and more operational in the field, in order to achieve even better results through joint efforts.
