Balanced regional development one of main government tasks

Prime Minister Professor Đuro Macut, MD, DSc, today visited the Municipality of Ražanj, where, together with Minister of Labour, Employment, Veteran and Social Affairs Milica Đurđević Stamenkovski and Minister for Family Care and Demography Jelena Žarić Kovačević, he spoke with the municipality’s leadership and visited the Social Work Centre.

During the talks with President of the Municipality of Ražanj Dobrica Stojković, Macut emphasised that balanced regional development is one of the Serbian government’s main strategic directions.

The Prime Minister expressed his belief that the two new factories that were opened yesterday in Niš will contribute to the citizens of Ražanj finding jobs there and thus improving the quality of life of their families.

During the visit to the Social Work Centre, whose building was reconstructed in 2022, the Prime Minister underlined the importance of continuously strengthening the social protection system and improving the quality of services and the lives of users.

Social security of the most vulnerable categories of the population is one of the priorities of the Serbian government and the line ministry, Macut emphasised, adding that the state demonstrates responsibility towards its citizens through such a policy.
