Prime Minister Professor Đuro Macut, MD, DSc, stated today that the fight against corruption is the foundation of every serious and responsible society, that it requires perseverance, professionalism and cooperation of all institutions and is not a one-time task.

On the occasion of International Anti-Corruption Day, Macut said that he particularly appreciates the contribution of the Anti-Corruption Agency, which is marking 15 years of work, as well as the long-standing support of international partners, primarily the OSCE, which have been an important pillar in building strong and sustainable mechanisms.
Referring to the Agency’s results, he noted that in the past year alone, more than 5,000 asset declarations of officials were submitted, with the number over the 15 years of the agency’s existence reaching more than 97,000, along with hundreds of supervision and control procedures carried out.
This, he assessed, is the best proof that Serbia is strengthening its anti-corruption instruments in practice, not just on paper, and that the system is functioning.
