Mali emphasised that the organisation of the GITEX event is in line with Serbia’s strategic directions in the field of digitalisation, technological development and innovation.
He noted that GITEX Serbia will be the largest international tech event ever held in Serbia, and together with Expo 2027, it will contribute to the country’s economic growth through the tourism, hotel management and hospitality industries.
Mali also said that the event will serve as an important platform for investments, the development of start-ups and the positioning of regional companies, which will further contribute to Serbia’s positioning as a technology centre in this part of Europe.
LohMirmand stated that it is significant for GITEX to be linked with Expo, noting that this is just the beginning of a cooperation that will continue after the event is held.
Events like this contribute greatly to the progress of the entire region and the further attraction of foreign direct investment, LohMirmand said.
Mali underlined that Serbia was among the top three economies in Europe in terms of growth last year, and that it is the only country in the South-western Balkans with an investment-grade credit rating.
