At the international conference themed “Power and Influence of Women in the Development of the Security Sector”, which the Women in Police Network of the Ministry of the Interior is organising in cooperation with UNDP, Macut said that woman play a major role and will be of crucial importance in the security sector in the future.
The Prime Minister emphasised that women contribute to the strength, professionalism and efficiency of institutions, noting that any country that fully includes women in the security sphere shows that it understands modern security challenges and is ready to react responsibly in times of global crises, tensions and technological risks.
He assessed that the work of the Network of Women in Police shows how the principles of women’s empowerment, equal opportunities and non-discrimination are successfully translated into concrete results that enhance the efficiency of the police and the security system.
The Prime Minister reiterated that the support of the Serbian government for such initiatives remains strategically important, because strengthening the role of women directly means strengthening the security of the state and creating a more inclusive and just society.
It is crucial that women participate equally in decision-making processes, especially in areas related to our common security, Macut pointed out, expressing gratitude to all women employed in the police, military, diplomacy, civil protection, intelligence services and other segments of the security system.
