Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of the Interior Ivica Dačić met today, on the sidelines of the 93rd session of the Interpol General Assembly in Marrakesh, with Interpol Secretary General Valdecy Urquiza.
On this occasion, Dačić underlined that the Serbian police give their contribution to the fight against crime and are ready to improve international cooperation in this area.
He said that the adoption of criteria for the establishment of new Interpol regional bureaus, which is one of the items on the agenda of this year's General Assembly session, will be of great importance for Serbia.
The Deputy Prime Minister confirmed our country's readiness to continue activities aimed at opening an Interpol regional bureau in Belgrade.
The interlocutors agreed that mutual visits are important for further improving cooperation, and that international cooperation and joining forces in the fight against all types of crime are necessary for the progress and future of all communities.
On that occasion, Dačić invited the Secretary General of Interpol to visit Serbia in the near future.
