Prime Minister Professor Đuro Macut, MD, DSc, met today with President of the Centre for Missing Children Igor Jurić to discuss the problems of peer violence, the increase in online child abuse and the possibilities for improving the Find Me early alert system.

Improvement of Find Me system to enhance citizens’ safety

Following the meeting at the Government of Serbia building, Macut told journalists that peer violence is a phenomenon present both within the education system and beyond, noting that it is necessary for experts, as well as institutions such as the Ministry of Youth and youth offices, to become involved in resolving this issue so that, together with the Centre, significant progress can be made in this area.
He stated that the idea behind the Find Me system is good, but that, in cooperation with the Emergency Management Sector, the model already in place within the Ministry of the Interior should be further improved, particularly in the segment concerning the treatment of missing children.
Jurić expressed his confidence that, together with the Government of Serbia, models and methods will be identified to address the problem of peer violence.
He noted that he also discussed digital safety with the Prime Minister, noting that recent years have seen an increase in online child abuse.
The President of the Centre for Missing Children said that today’s meeting also covered improvements to the Find Me system with the aim of ensuring the safety of all citizens.
