Prime Minister Professor Đuro Macut, MD, DSc, met today with First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance Siniša Mali to align financial and operational mechanisms needed to keep the current energy situation under control.
Macut noted that, following yesterday’s session of the government, the coordination of all relevant authorities continued from the early morning hours.
I am aware that this decision of the United States of America can affect energy supply and that is why we will work intensively with all our partners in the coming days to secure additional supply channels and safeguard the security of citizens and the economy, the Prime Minister said.
He added that storages are full and reserves at their maximum, and that there is no reason for concern.
I would like to call on all citizens to be patient and understanding. Serbia has the strength, resources and reliable partners to overcome this challenge, and the interests of our citizens and the security of supply remain our absolute priority, said Macut.
He underlined that the government will transparently and in a timely manner inform the public about every step taken.
