E-Sick Leave–Employer another step in public administration modernisation

Prime Minister Professor Đuro Macut, MD, DSc, talked today at the Ložionica venue with Director of the Office for Information Technologies and eGovernment Mihailo Jovanović about the future application of the “e-Sick Leave–Employer” software solution.

Macut recalled that several days ago, the government adopted the Bill on the Exchange of Data, Documents and Notifications in Cases of Temporary Incapacity for Work through the “e-Sick Leave–Employer” Software Solution.

As he noted, the bill abolishes the obligation of employees to deliver paper certificates and sick leave remittances to their employers, since all data and documents will be exchanged automatically, in electronic form.

According to him, thanks to this law, employers will directly receive in the system the certificates and reports on temporary incapacity for work, as well as salary compensation calculations and decisions of medical commissions, thereby preventing any delays in the payment of compensation to employees.

It is envisaged that the law will enter into force on 1 January 2026, except for the calculation of salary compensation via the Fund, which will apply from 1 April, while entrepreneurs employing workers will have until 1 January 2027 to join the system.
