Prime Minister Professor Đuro Macut, MD, DSc, met with Mayor of Shanghai Gong Zheng today to discuss the advancement of cooperation, as well as the organisation of the Days of Serbia event in Shanghai.
Macut stated that the Mayor of Shanghai had personally supported the proposal for the Days of Serbia in Shanghai to be organised soon in order to promote Serbian products, and thereby additionally enhance trade, as well as to present Serbia’s economic prospects, tourism and culture.
The meeting particularly focused on the importance of further developing and advancing overall cooperation between the two states and the two peoples.
The Prime Minister announced that Serbia will present its potentials in the best possible manner at the planned event, recalling that it is of exceptional importance that the Mayor of Shanghai had personally supported the organisation of such an event.
According to him, the event will help significantly deepen relations between the two countries, as well as have a direct impact on Serbia’s economic development and the utilisation of the Free Trade Agreement.
Macut noted that this serves as further confirmation of mutual respect and friendship between the two peoples, based on the personal and friendly relations between Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić and Chinese President Xi Jinping, which have raised cooperation between the two countries to the historically highest level – building a community with a shared future.
The Mayor of Shanghai, expressing his wish for the Days of Serbia event to be organised in the city, conveyed hope that relations between the two countries will grow ever stronger and more successful.
