Bojan Dimitrijevic
Speaking at a press conference, Dimitrijevic specified that the awards will be given for the results achieved in exports, innovations, financial operations, appearance on new markets, as well as for entrepreneurship initiatives, achievements in market communications, in the field of education, for the application of contemporary technologies, environmental protection and sustainable development, and for the most successful tourist destination.
The Minister added that an award for exceptional contributions to the development of Serbian tourism is also envisaged.
This award shall be a recognition for business results achieved in tourism industry, support to the positioning of Serbian tourism, as well as for contribution to competitive and sustainable development of tourism.
The Ministry created this great award in association with the Serbian Tourist Organisation with the aim of establishing it as a traditional award, Dimitrijevic explained and added that if no real achievements are made in all 11 categories, not all awards will always be presented.
The Minister said that some 100 applications have been submitted to the competition which was announced in mid June this year, but that the award will not be given in all categories if the proposals are not of sufficient quality.
Dimitrijevic explained that White Angel was chosen as a symbol of the award because it is a mark of hospitality and because it has been accepted as one of Serbia's logos.
