Prime Minister Professor Đuro Macut, MD, DSc, met today with the new Ambassador of the Arab Republic of Egypt to Serbia, Ahmed Salama Soliman, to discuss the advancement of relations between the two countries.
The Prime Minister pointed out the opportunities to further strengthen bilateral ties, particularly in the fields of economy, trade, tourism, agriculture and the defence industry.
He stated that Serbia welcomes every new step in cooperation with Egypt, with which it shares traditionally friendly relations based on respect, appreciation and historical and spiritual closeness.
The two officials also agreed on the necessity of establishing an air route between Belgrade and Cairo, noting that it would represent an additional step towards deepening interstate cooperation.
