Addressing the media following the session, Macut and Gojković emphasised that the fact that such a session is being held in Sombor for the first time represents an important step towards improving coordination and more efficiently addressing local and regional issues.
This is a good opportunity to see how certain segments of Serbia are progressing, to receive and hear new ideas, said Macut, announcing the continuation of this practice.
According to him, an agreement was reached to hold thematic meetings in the spring and autumn, with the next joint session of the Government of the Republic of Serbia and the Provincial Government, focused on a specific topic, to be held in another part of Vojvodina.
Macut expressed his belief that, thanks to this practice, cooperation between the two governments will be even more successful.
Gojković said that topics discussed at the joint session related to education, healthcare, economy, sports, attracting foreign investments, expanding work zones, infrastructure works and the reconstruction of significant facilities.
According to her, the largest part of the session was dedicated to infrastructure projects that the Government of Serbia is implementing in the territory of Vojvodina.
She added that all levels of education in Vojvodina were discussed, particularly the security aspect of facilities where classes are held in primary and secondary schools.
Gojković noted that major investments in the field of education related to the University of Novi Sad are planned, and that the construction of the Novi Sad student canteen, a project that will begin next year, was also discussed.
The session also discussed the construction of flats for university professors and assistants, said the President of the Provincial Government.
Ahead of the session, which was held in Sombor, in the county building, a total of 12 bilateral meetings were held to discuss matters concerning intra-sectoral cooperation and strengthening ties between departments.
