Prime Minister Professor Đuro Macut, MD, DSc, spoke today with representatives of the Association of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing of Serbia about the challenges they face and the possibilities of finding systemic solutions to improve their position in society and improve their quality of life.

Government significantly improves position of persons with disabilities

Macut emphasised that the Government has taken certain steps in recent years to improve the position of persons with disabilities and resolve some of the challenges they face.
He said that deaf people in Serbia, as in other countries, continue to face numerous problems related to access to education, employment and integration into society.
The Prime Minister announced that he will discuss with the relevant ministries the possibilities of finding the best solutions and models for improving the position of deaf and hard of hearing citizens, and that legal solutions are being adopted that will enable this, expressing gratitude to the representatives of the Association for their willingness to work together and engage.
