Prime Minister Professor Đuro Macut, MD, DSc, spoke today with Ambassador of the United Arab Emirates to Serbia Ahmed Hatem AlMenhali about intensifying cooperation between the two countries and new joint projects.
Macut emphasised the good political relations between the two countries, which have been raised to the level of strategic partnership, and which are accompanied by the continuous strengthening of economic cooperation.
This, he added, resulted in the conclusion of several interstate agreements and cooperation contracts, as well as the launch of projects of national importance.
The Prime Minister emphasised that the UAE is Serbia’s most important foreign trade partner and the leading export market among the member states of the Gulf Cooperation Council.
He expressed gratitude to the UAE for its announced participation in Specialised Expo 2027, for which more than 120 countries have applied so far.
Macut also thanked the ambassador for the invitation to participate in the World Government Summit, which will be held from 3 to 5 February 2026, assessing that it is extremely important for Serbia to participate in such gatherings.
During the meeting, the possibilities for establishing Belgrade-Abu Dhabi flights were also discussed.
