Legalisation bill to enter parliamentary procedure by end of October

Prime Minister Professor Đuro Macut, MD, DSc, stated that the Bill on Special Conditions for Recording and Registration of Property Rights to Real Estate, which will be on the agenda of the Government session today, will be sent to the Serbian parliament for consideration immediately after adoption.

In a televised appearance on Radio Television of Serbia (RTS), Macut expressed his expectation that the proposed law will be adopted in late October or early November, and that its implementation will start by the end of the year.

He voiced his hope that this bill will be included today in the agenda of the regular autumn session and that it will receive broad support in Parliament.

According to him, more than four million buildings today are in a certain degree of irregularity, which is an obstacle to their registration in the cadastre and legalisation in terms of registration of the ownership rights to these properties.

He expressed his gratitude to the Ministry of Construction, Transport and Infrastructure and Minister Aleksandra Sofronijević for their dedicated work and commitment in the process of adoption of the new law.

Speaking about the fees, he said that they have been considerably reduced and that they will be paid in relation to the size of the building, square metres and the zone where it is located.
