Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of the Interior Ivica Dačić stated today that in modern circumstances, the police must be highly educated, professionally trained and grounded in ethics, adding that without such an approach, there can be no leadership that can successfully respond to today’s risks.

Dačić attended the opening of a two-day Annual Conference and Governing Board Meeting of the Association of European Police Colleges (AEPC), held at the Palace of Serbia, dedicated to police leadership, the challenges of the modern era and the role of the police in society.
According to him, police universities and colleges across Europe play a decisive role, as they are not only centres of knowledge, but also laboratories of trust, mutual understanding and professional networks built during studies.
Dačić assessed that the role of the Association of European Police Colleges is extremely valuable given that it brings together over 40 police academies from across Europe and transforms experiences from Lisbon, Helsinki and Belgrade into shared knowledge.
He said that Serbia’s ambition is to serve as a bridge between the European Union and the Western Balkans in the exchange of knowledge, experiences and police education.
