Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of the Interior Ivica Dačić stated today that members of the Serbian Ministry of the Interior participated in an international operation by the Ministry of the Interior of the United Arab Emirates, which was aimed at combating sexual exploitation and abuse of children on the Internet, adding that the operation was successfully carried out.

He said that the police of 15 countries participated in the operation, which was carried out between 10 July and 31 August this year, and that 165 victims were rescued and 188 suspects were arrested, noting that 153 electronic devices were temporarily seized and 113 user accounts were closed.
The Deputy Prime Minister pointed out that police officers have filed six criminal charges against six individuals on reasonable suspicion that they have been downloading, storing and sharing content created through the exploitation of children for pornographic purposes over a long period of time via the Internet.
The focus of this international operation was on uncovering the entire spectrum of online exploitation, from the creation, possession and distribution of child sexual abuse material to sexual extortion, live abuse and cases involving content generated by artificial intelligence.
