Vukovic told a press conference that the government set aside 60 million dinars whereas the European Commission donated €900,000 through the European Agency for Reconstruction (EAR).
According to Vukovic, FSI’s competition comprises two parts: transformation of institutions for the accommodation of children without parental care and homes for children with disabilities and development of local services of social care.
Transformation of institutions for the accommodation of children without parental care is one of the most important parts of a social care development strategy, he said noting that some 10 million dinars has been set aside for these projects.
Projects for the development of local services of social care will improve position of children without parental care, persons with disabilities, the elderly and poor people, said Vukovic and added that 5 million dinars will be set aside for these projects.
He said that the competition will be open until September 20. He also added that in previous competitions, 139 projects were implemented in 59 Serbian municipalities, which allowed for the opening of the so-called safe houses for victims of violence, realisation of the programme of support to poor families and children in peril, development of services for old and exhausted persons as well as the violence prevention programme in schools.
