Unity of Serbian people as foundation for preserving their identity

Belgrade/Višegrad, 7 June 2025

Prime Minister Professor Đuro Macut, MD, DSc, met today with President of Republika Srpska Milorad Dodik during his visit to Višegrad for the celebration marking the first anniversary of the All-Serb Assembly and the signing of the Declaration on the Protection of National and Political Rights and the Common Future of the Serbian People, titled “Encounter on the Drina – Bridges of Serbian Unity”, held in Andrićgrad.

Macut emphasised that Serbia will continue to support Republika Srpska and work on strengthening and advancing cooperation in all areas, while joint projects will further reinforce the historical ties of our people.

The Prime Minister underlined that the Serbian people have always stood together, that these bonds are lasting and ever-present, and that the preservation of language, culture and tradition is a shared value for the people on both sides of the Drina River.

Dodik stated that he is very proud of all the investments and continuous support that Serbia provides to Republika Srpska.

Both officials stressed the importance of marking the anniversary of the All-Serb Assembly and the signing of the Declaration on the Protection of National and Political Rights and the Common Future of the Serbian People, reiterating that unity is the foundation for preserving the identity of the Serbian people.
