Prime Minister Professor Đuro Macut, MD, DSc, chaired today a session of the Council for the Coordination of Activities and Measures for Gross Domestic Product (GDP) Growth, at which the situation in economic areas that directly affect GDP growth, which is expected to be above three percent this year, was analysed.

Implementation of capital investments, projects proceeds on track

At the session it was pointed out that the implementation of capital investments and projects in all sectors important for the state of GDP is proceeding on track, regardless of the challenges and trends that do not only concern the domestic market.
The members of the GDP Council stated, among other things, that growth was recorded in the areas of agriculture, the number of employees and industry in April, while the inflation rate fell.
Certain challenges were detected in the areas of retail trade and food production, the number of tourist arrivals and overnight stays.
The Prime Minister announced that, in order to increase the efficiency of the Council's work, a working group will be formed that will in the future prepare before the session a list of 20 projects of exceptional importance, the implementation of which will directly affect GDP growth, and proposals for solving challenges in various areas.
