Opportunities for improving cooperation with Egypt in various fields

Prime Minister Professor Đuro Macut, MD, DSc, met today with Minister of Tourism and Antiquities of the Arab Republic of Egypt Sherif Fathy to discuss the strengthening of bilateral relations, with a special emphasis on the economy, tourism and culture.

Macut recalled that Serbia and Egypt have a long history of friendship, mutual trust and respect.

He pointed to numerous opportunities for improving cooperation in the field of tourism, through mutual promotion of tourism potential and cultural and historical heritage, joint tourism projects, participation in tourism fairs and easing the visa regime.

The Prime Minister said that he particularly sees prospects for developing partnership relations in the field of science and innovation, as well as in the sector of protection of cultural goods.

The Prime Minister assessed that the visit of the Egyptian Minister is a significant step in further deepening the cultural ties between the two countries, which, as he reiterated, have been nurturing decades of friendship.

Fathy stated that Serbia and Egypt are ready to work together to build a long-term and stable partnership that will contribute to the prosperity of both peoples.

He said that it is necessary to clearly define goals and concrete steps to improve cooperation in areas of mutual importance.
