Macut emphasised that peace is the basic assumption of a normal life for all people and in every place, and added that it is an essential value that is a vital need in these areas, based on the principles contained in the Dayton Peace Agreement.
Stability is a prerequisite for growth and economic development. It makes an area suitable for the entire society and all its factors to be focused on creating a better life in peace, the Prime Minister said.
Stability implies that a society or region directs all its efforts towards a single goal. Stability means that there are no internal and external conflicts, blockades, quarrels and divisions. That misunderstandings are resolved in accordance with the laws, institutionally and democratic, Macut said.
According to him, there is no economic progress without peace and stability, and the economic progress of citizens and our society is a measure of all joint efforts and activities that come as values that arise in an environment of respect for national, religious, ethnic, human and minority rights.
Speaking at the central panel Growth Plan – Conversation with Leaders, Macut said that today we are discussing the Growth Plan for the Western Balkans, which the European Commission adopted in 2023 and which offers a potential of six billion euros, with the implementation of the necessary reforms, in order to stimulate economic growth, improve the standard of living of citizens and accelerate the process of this region's accession to the European Union.
According to him, integration in all respects, along with joint projects and plans, is the reality of this part of Europe and what the region needs.
