Prime Minister Professor Đuro Macut, MD, DSc, met today with Ambassador of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) to Serbia Ahmed Hatem AlMenhali to discuss opportunities for enhancing bilateral relations between the two countries.
Macut expressed gratitude for the UAE’s support so far, particularly in the fields of infrastructure and the economy, and emphasised that he also sees potential for strengthening cooperation in tourism and industry.
He stated that Serbia regards the UAE as a key partner in the Middle East and added that this cooperation is of strategic importance for Serbia, especially in the context of economic and political relations.
According to him, Serbia’s geographical position enables the UAE to access the broad and dynamic European market more easily.
AlMenhali noted that his country is ready to participate in major infrastructure projects in Serbia, particularly in the areas of renewable energy sources, IT sector development and artificial intelligence.
He underlined the importance of further strengthening economic cooperation and called for continued joint efforts in sectors such as agriculture and technology.
The two officials agreed that cooperation in tourism, culture and education is key to strengthening friendly ties between the two nations.
The meeting concluded that the next steps will be focused on the concrete implementation of joint projects that are expected to further reinforce the strategic partnership between Serbia and the UAE.
