Prime Minister Professor Đuro Macut, MD, DSc, met today with the Chargé d’Affaires at the Embassy of the United States of America in Serbia Alexander Titolo to discuss bilateral cooperation and plans for the period ahead.
At the meeting, mutual readiness was expressed to intensify meetings between officials and establish new forms of cooperation in areas of mutual interest, while particular emphasis was placed on the strategic partnership in the areas of energy, trade and the ICT sector.
Prime Minister Macut said that Serbia and the US have always been closely connected, and that a historic opportunity now exists to elevate their relations to a higher level.
The Prime Minister and his interlocutor agreed that the arrival of the new US Ambassador to Belgrade will contribute to utilising the potential of both sides and achieving progress on outstanding issues.
Titolo remarked that Serbia has always been a partner of the United States, with which it has much in common, and expressed hope for the further deepening of relations in many fields, for which there is significant space.
There is room to address many more issues, as the current level of cooperation shows that there are opportunities for this, Titolo concluded.
