The Ministry of Culture has condemned in the strongest terms yesterday’s incursion into the City Museum in North Mitrovica by alleged municipal officials and the so-called Kosovo police.
After previously forcibly entering the premises of the Institution for Sports, Youth and Specialised Services, the Sports Federation and the Cultural and Artistic Society “Kosovo Peony”, the thugs continued to usurp everything Serbian, solely with the aim of rewriting history and intimidating the Serbian people into abandoning their centuries-old homes.
The shameless act of terror aimed at erasing traces of Serbian culture in the southern province represents a continuation of efforts to appropriate Serbian cultural heritage – institutions that stand as irrefutable evidence of the history and truth about Kosovo and Metohija.
The brutal systemic persecution of the Serbian people, through the seizure of Serbian territory and cultural heritage, represents a continued effort to eradicate traces of Serbian identity.
The Ministry of Culture remains committed to the fight for preserving heritage, rights and truths about the centuries-old history of the existence of the Serbian people in Kosovo and Metohija as an inseparable territory of the Republic of Serbia, the statement added.
