Continuation of fruitful cooperation with Germany’s KfW Development Bank

First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance Siniša Mali met today with Klaus Müller, Director of Germany’s KfW Development Bank for Southeast Europe and Türkiye, to discuss ongoing projects in Serbia supported by this financial institution, as well as plans for implementing new projects.

At the meeting, which was also attended by Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany to Serbia Anke Konrad, Mali pointed out that this financial institution supports a large number of projects, primarily in the fields of energy and environmental protection, which are key to Serbia’s further development.

When it comes to future projects, the plan is to launch a reform programme related to the green growth development policy – Phase 2 in the amount of €135 million by the end of 2025.

It is also planned to implement a programme related to integrated solid waste management, Phases 2 and 3, in the amount of up to €65 million.

The First Deputy Prime Minister also presented to his interlocutors Serbia’s macroeconomic results, assessing that the macroeconomic fundamentals are still good, despite global challenges from outside, but also the blockades that are occurring in the country.

The First Deputy Prime Minister also noted that Serbia has concluded a new, three-year arrangement with the International Monetary Fund (IMF), which envisages a deficit not exceeding 3% during the period.
