Serbia remains committed to EU values

Prime Minister Professor Đuro Macut, MD, DSc, met today with European Union member states’ ambassadors in Belgrade, who wished him success in his work and expressed their commitment to EU enlargement, as well as their continued support for Serbia on its path to European integration.

Macut underlined that open dialogue is the foundation of democracy and that, aware of the challenges facing Europe, the priority of his work remains unity, understanding and progress of the country with the aim of achieving full membership in the EU.

Serbia has been committed to European values for more than two decades, has initiated reforms in many fields, and I believe that together we can achieve all the ambitious goals we have set, said the Prime Minister.

Head of the EU Delegation to Serbia Ambassador Emanuele Giaufret assessed that the Serbian Prime Minister took office at a historically significant moment.

According to him, due to the situation in Europe, it is necessary to look to the future, work on the implementation of reform tasks, improvement of the rule of law and all other areas.

In their individual addresses to the Prime Minister, the ambassadors said that they represent a compact group of countries that are very willing to help Serbia make the best possible progress on its path to the EU.
