Minister of Culture Nikola Selaković and Pope Tawadros II of Alexandria and Patriarch of the See of Saint Mark today expressed satisfaction with the traditionally friendly bilateral relations between Serbia and Egypt, with a tendency for further improvement.

The interlocutors assessed that cooperation in the field of culture is developed, with great opportunities for additional strengthening, primarily by encouraging inter-institutional exchange.
Selaković said that our country is following with great attention the efforts of the Coptic Church in preserving ancient monasteries, churches and manuscripts that testify to the wealth of early Christianity.
He underlined that Serbia is proud of its monasteries and churches, which we preserve as the greatest treasure of our people, including those on the UNESCO List of World Heritage in Danger.
The Minister assessed that the visit of Tawadros II represents a historic moment and confirmation of the deep respect that our country has for the Coptic Orthodox Church and the rich cultural and spiritual heritage of Egypt.
The interlocutors pointed to future forms of cooperation through inter-museum exchange of exhibitions, exchange of choirs, joint exhibitions and publication of books that would encourage mutual learning about the history and culture of the two peoples.
