Director of the Yugoslav Film Archive Radoslav Zelenovic presented yesterday the Golden Seal award to Italian director of photography Vittorio Storaro, in recognition of his contribution to the art of filmmaking.
Zelenovic recalled on the occasion that Storaro is a three-time Oscar winner for films "Apocalypse Now," "Reds" and "The Last Emperor”. He added that the Yugoslav Film Archive possesses 15 films from his rich repertoire.
Storaro is currently working on a biographical film on the artist Caravaggio, a part of which is being filmed in the studio in Kostunjak. He thanked the Archive for the award, and collaborators in Belgrade for their help in filming and said that he hopes the film “Caravaggio” will soon find a place in the collection of the Yugoslav Film Archive.
