Second festival of Serbian film opens in Paris

The second festival of the Serbian film opened last night in Paris in the presence of Serbian film director Zelimir Zilnik and Belgrade Mayor Nenad Bogdanovic.
The festival began with "The Rat" by Bosiljka Simonovic, was previously awarded at the Cannes festival.
Films "Party" by Aleksandar Davic, "Shaitan's Warrior" by Stevan Filipovic, "Karaula" by Rajko Grlic, "Rising from the Dead" by Milos Radivojevic and "Ivko's Slava" by Zdravko Sotra will compete for the prize. Also, the film "Young and Healthy as a Rose" by Jovan Jovanovic, filmed in 1971 and rediscovered in 2006, will be screened.
Films by Zelimir Zilnik will be shown in retrospect, as well as films made by an elder generation of film directors, such as Zivojin Pavlovic, Aleksandar Petrovic and Slobodan Sijan.
Apart from the Serbian embassy in France, the festival was also supported by the Serbian Ministry of Culture, Belgrade City Assembly and numerous sponsors.
