Lalovic takes up presiding over Social Economic Council

Serbian Minister of Labour, Employment and Social Policy Slobodan Lalovic has taken over the role of presiding over the Social Economic Council during the next year.

Lalovic expressed hope that obstacles in the Council’s work will be removed in the next period.
The Council agreed to discuss all bills and decisions before they are presented in government sessions, Lalovic said.
President of the Alliance of Independent Trade Unions of Serbia (SSSS) Milenko Smiljanic, who presided over the Council so far, said that the annual report on the Council’s work got a positive grade.
Smiljanic said that the Council will particularly focus on privatisation of rehabilitation centres in Serbia, violation of workers trade union rights, talks on cooperative and socially-owned property and privatisation of public companies.
