Speaking at a press conference, Dimitrijevic said that on the day prior to and on match days the Serbian national football team will be presented in Leipzig, Gelsenkirchen, Munich and Hanover, while in Berlin, throughout the duration of the championship, films by Emir Kusturica and the film “Ivkova Slava” will be screened in an open air theatre.
The Serbian government allocated a sum of 25 million dinars for organising the programme in Germany, said the Minister. He also expressed his expectation that despite the humble funds, the programme will allow foreigners to get to know all that Serbia offers.
He said that the programme from Serbia is made for some 16,000 football fans from Serbia and for Serbs abroad, but also for the German public, political representatives and the German media.
General Manager of the Belgrade Fair Andjelko Trpkovic said that the programme will be anchored by actors Jelena Jovicic and Boda Ninkovic and that Guca and Exit festivals will be presented as well. The Gvozdena Rosica orchestra, “Luis and Luis” band, and Serbian cultural societies in Germany will also take part in the event.
Trpkovic explained that artists from Serbia will perform on a special 150 square metre stage, with complete audio-visual equipment, space for a press centre, information centre and an area where representatives of the Tourist Organisation of Serbia and Tourist Organisation of Belgrade will answer visitors’ questions.
The patron of the project is the Ministry of Trade, Tourism and Services, and the board of management consists of representatives of the ministries of diaspora, international economic relations and economy.
