Vuksanovic, Polt sign agreement on International School's status

Serbian Minister of Education and Sport Slobodan Vuksanovic and US Ambassador to Belgrade Michael Polt signed today an agreement on the status of the International School, thus placing it within the Serbian educational system.

At a press conference in the Serbian government Vuksanovic said that apart from this one, there are three more diplomatic schools in Belgrade – Russian, German and French – and similar agreements are to be signed with these schools in the upcoming weeks.
According to Vuksanovic, children of 30 different nationalities currently attend the International School and now that the school is within the official educational system, they will receive diplomas that will enable them to apply for jobs anywhere in the world.
Ambassador Polt said that sometimes small things have great significance and specified that the fact the school has become part of the official educational system is important not only for the children attending it but also for overall relations between Serbia and the US.
