Belgrade Anti-Corruption Days conference starts

President of the Anti-Corruption Council Verica Barac said that a conference titled “Belgrade Anti-Corruption Days” began today with the assistance of the Swiss government, the Swiss embassy in Belgrade and the Institute for Management in Basel.
Barac told a press conference that this conference will focus on promotion of cooperation between Serbian institutions and the Institute for Management in Basel, which will contribute to the fight against corruption and independence of the judiciary in Serbia.
According to Barac, the conference aims to improve the implementation of international legal instruments in fighting corruption and discuss capacity building possibilities of the Anticorruption Council.
She said that the conference will look at international standards in fighting corruption and money-laundering, problems in the judiciary, public purchases and privatisation, ties between corruption and organised crime, investigation techniques and international legal assistance.
