Prime Minister Miloš Vučević spoke today with representatives of the preschool education union about improving the position of employees.
According to Vučević, the government’s proposal is that salaries of employees at preschool institutions be increased by 12% from 1 January 2025, which is 50% higher than the salary increase for other employees in the public sector.
When it comes to employees who receive minimum wages, as of 1 January, their wages will go up by 13.7%, in line with the minimum wage increase as of 1 January.
Vučević also announced that the future criminal offense of attacking professors and teachers, which will be introduced through amendments to the Criminal Code, will also apply to preschool teachers.
