Zoran Loncar
Loncar said that after two years of successful and responsible cooperation, it has become clear to everyone that the Serbian government has absolute political will to remove the remaining Hague obstacles from the European road of Serbia.
He pointed out that the arrest of Ratko Mladic is not a political, but purely technical issue and that because of these technical obstacles, the cooperation with the Hague tribunal has been at a standstill for several months. The Minister reiterated that Serbia is a serious democratic state which has to fulfill all its international obligations, which is completely clear.
Referring to the adoption of a new constitution, Loncar said that the constitution has always been a priority for the Serbian government.
"Although its adoption entails the end of the term of office of the government and all other state bodies, we will continue to give our full contribution to its adoption. That is our state obligation in the process of joining the European Union after all. The issue of the constitution is the best chance for all of us who bear responsibility for the country's political destiny to show to citizens who is oriented towards democracy and Europe in deed, and who only verbally," the Minister stressed.
He said that two texts of the constitution are on the discussion table, one prepared by the Serbian government and another by the Serbian president, noting that between them there are very small differences in terms of context. They cannot be an obstacle to finding a version that will be acceptable for both sides.
