Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of the Interior Ivica Dačić today saw off members of the Helicopter Unit and the Emergency Situations Sector who went to North Macedonia with a Kamov Ka-32 helicopter to help extinguish wildfires.
Dačić explained that members of the Emergency Situations Sector and the Helicopter Unit are working together in this case, noting that they are also engaged in firefighting on the territory of Serbia.
We are ready to help whenever our capacities allow it. At this moment it is possible. We are also ready to operate on the territory of Republika Srpska, that is Bosnia and Herzegovina. We are waiting for the procedure to be completed to help put out fires in that territory too, he pointed out.
Commander of the Helicopter Unit Nenad Nedić pointed out that the Kamov Ka-32 helicopter, which stands out in the region for its maximum capacities, is being sent outside the borders of Serbia for the first time.
