Minister of Foreign Affairs Marko Đurić attended the reception in Washington on the occasion of the 75th anniversary of the founding of the NATO organisation at the invitation of US President Joseph Biden.
On that occasion, the head of Serbian diplomacy spoke with representatives of member countries and partner countries about current regional and international topics.
Bearing in mind that cooperation between Serbia and NATO takes place through the "Partnership for Peace" programme, of which we have been a member since 2006, Đurić conveyed to the interlocutors the determination of our country towards a policy of military neutrality, as well as openness to further improving cooperation within the available mechanisms of that program.
Emphasising that Serbia, as an independent and sovereign state, takes care of its national interests, he also pointed out that, through participation in numerous peace missions, our country actively contributes to building peace and stability around the world.
According to him, Serbia, as a credible international factor, is ready to cooperate with foreign partners on preserving security and stability in the Western Balkans, which can be seen in the example of good cooperation between the Serbian Army and the KFOR mission in Kosovo and Metohija, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated.
