Serbian Minister of Culture Dragan Kojadinovic is on a two day visit to the European capital of culture for 2006 Patras in Greece, where the first meeting of ministers of culture from Southeastern Europe is being held within the frame work of the programme of South East European Cooperation Process (SEECP).
The ministers will discuss today cultural cooperation and the possibility of planning the realisation of joint projects in the field of modern cultural creativity.
Kojadinovic presented the idea of creating a regional fund for supporting film production and distribution, and pointed out the need for forming a regional cultural policy.
Greek Prime Minister Kostas Karamanlis will meet with ministers of culture from Southeastern Europe. The meeting is a gesture of good will by Greece reflecting the country’s readiness to play a role in advancing the EU integration process in the region.
The SEECP began its work almost a decade ago with the aim to seek peaceful solutions for problematic situations and create a viable and stable economic system in the region.
Until now similar meetings have been held on energy, international cooperation, justice and prevention of trafficking, gray economy and parliamentary cooperation.
