Prime Minister Miloš Vučević attended a reception on occasion of St. Patron’s Day of the City of Belgrade - Ascension Day at the Belgrade City Assembly today.
The celebration included the cutting of the ceremonial bread, in which Vučević participated along with Chairman of the Provisional Authority of the City of Belgrade Aleksandar Šapić, as the host, Serbian Patriarch Porfirije, and member of the Provisional Authority of the City of Belgrade Nikola Nikodijević.
The reception for Ascension Day was also attended by Ministers without Portfolio in the Government of Serbia – Novica Tončev, Tatjana Macura and Nenad Popović, Director of the Office for Public and Cultural Diplomacy Arnaud Gouillon, representatives of religious communities, ambassadors, members of the Serbian Armed Forces, councilors in the Belgrade City Assembly and other dignitaries.
Vučević was part of the Ascension Day procession that moved from the Church of the Ascension, moving along Kralja Milana Street to Slavija Square, where Patriarch Porfirije read the Holy Gospel and blessed the capital's streets.
The procession then proceeded to the Temple of Saint Sava, where the Patriarch held a sermon.
