Matic told a press conference that Serbia's natural fruit brandies attracted great attention at the fair and that of all exhibitors, only 20% presented this type of beverage. According to Matic, Serbian exhibitors stood out not only by the quality of their products, but with packaging and overall marketing presentation as well.
She recalled that since the beginning of the year, the Serbian Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Water Management, SIEPA and the German Organisation for Technical Cooperation (GTZ) have organised the participation of domestic producers at four international food fairs, and that they will do the same for three more fairs until the end of 2006.
Matic specified that Serbian producers will have a chance to take part in the food fairs in New York, Moscow and Paris in July, September and October, noting that this is just one part of the promotion of Serbia's economy and that local enterprises are very interested in such events.
Serbian Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Water Management Ivana Dulic-Markovic said that the experience of this year's participation of domestic producers at international fairs has showed that it is good and important that Serbia has a national exhibition stand at which it can advertise its products and thus make the world market familiar both with domestic producers and its traditional products.
She stressed that at ProWein, Serbia has had its own national exhibition stand for the first time, at which nine Serbian producers were presented - three wine producers and six producers of natural brandies.
ProWein is one of the most significant international fairs of wine and spirits. It lasted from March 26 to 28 and gathered over 2,900 exhibitors from 46 countries. A large number of professional seminars and lectures for producers of wine and spirits were also held as part of the event.
