Minister of Foreign Affairs Marko Đurić, during a courtesy meeting with Ambassador of the State of Israel to Serbia Yahel Vilan, conveyed our country's commitment to continuing to improve long-term relations with Israel.
Thanking Israel for its position regarding the adoption of the Resolution on Srebrenica in the General Assembly of the United Nations last week, Đurić stated that the Serbian and Jewish people have a true closeness throughout history.
The head of Serbian Diplomacy pointed out that Serbia is ready to work on maintaining the dynamics of bilateral political dialogue at different levels, with the aim of strengthening mutual understanding and joint consideration of opportunities for the development of cooperation in areas of mutual interest.
In addition to the statement about the political aspect of the relationship, he singled out the economy as an extremely promising area, which has been recording an upward trend for years thanks to the constant growth of trade exchange and the significant presence of Israeli investors in our country.
Along with his concern about the current situation in that part of the world, Đurić also expressed the hope that the war will end as soon as possible, repeating the position of Serbia, which, in a joint statement with 16 other signatory countries, appealed for the immediate release of the hostages and their safe return to their families, according to a statement of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
