Vučević said that Serbia has come out of the period when it was weakening, when the army was leaving its facilities that later became devastated, adding that today investments are being made and better conditions are being created in all segments, including the judiciary.
I have been in many courts as an attorney, so I can testify from personal experience, but I have never seen a building like this anywhere, and this is something that is a symbol of the strength of both the state and a city, said the Prime Minister.
He pointed out that the opening of the building is not only a matter of better conditions for the work of judges, prosecutors, deputy prosecutors and all those who are part of the judicial system, but that it is also important that the citizens of Nis get access to law and justice in the right conditions.
According to him, Niš, as the centre of the south and southeast of Serbia, must have such a facility because this is a sign that the state is present here and that Niš is the centre of the state for this part of Serbia.
This building shows that Serbia has been a state for several centuries, and a state that has existed for so long must, as he pointed out, judge according to law and justice.
The judiciary needs to be further strengthened. We respect your independence, but in addition to being independent, you are responsible to the citizens, you are responsible to the law, you are responsible to the Constitution and the laws of this country, Vucevic said.
Minister of Justice Maja Popović also attended the opening of the reconstructed facility in Niš.
Popović stated that the value of the reconstruction and adaptation of the former barracks "Filip Kljajić" is €7.5 million and that this amount was allocated from the budget of Serbia.
